Foreword:
Everything began
when Ricardo Bittencourt decided to translate
Konami's Shalom - Knightmare III
from Japanese to Portuguese even tough
the barrier was only really broken with the translation of
Snatcher by
Daniel Caetano. From now on
Oasis would not be the only company to make some MSX masterpieces
understandable to us, westerns.
Maybe it's
because it's a MSX Turbo-R game, but as far as I known, the complete
translation of Illusion City was never attempted.
Takamichi Suzukawa - who worked on the translation of many
games including Konami's Metal Gear 2
- admits to have abandoned this idea due to the
likelyness of a low number of players.
But during MSXRio'2002, Daniel Caetano said that
his next "victim" in the MSX game translation area would be Illusion City.
As I knew he was still busy working on
Snatcher, and being excited about the possibility of
understanding this beautiful Microcabin game, I asked him "Can I start
working on it while you're still busy with Snatcher?".
This site is consequence of his answer.
This project has not only the objective of translating
the game, but also
fixing some of its bugs, enhancing it and
porting it to
the MSX2 and MSX2+ machines, thus allowing it to be played
by as many users as possible while maintaining all of its features.
