Later, he traveled every part of the universe to become a real entertainer, until he bloomed as a "Dreams n' Hopes Programmer". His job was about programming and giving the "dreams" to the people of the stars who argued there is neither dream or hope, to the people of the stars who nearly forgot the dreams.
This occasion, he heard that the people of the Earth, where he once he improved his career, were losing the dreams. And, after knowing that the cause was "Bug" who was hiding in the asteroid, he set out to destroy Bug.		 Big Viper
Year 6658 by Space Calendar, 2nd Planet War broke out in the Planet Gradius. In this occasion, effort of a super time-spatial fighter "Big Viper" piloted by James Burton saved the Planet Gradius. And, Big Viper served the front line for eight years and completed its duties until year 6666, when newly researched and developed "Metallion" showed up to stop the invasion of Venom. Since that time, he was having a quiet retirement in the deep of the defense department underground alley, but he came up to the idea to travel the universe as his last remembrance of his young days, so he joined the Space Fighters.

He is the ex-knight of Greek Kingdom, a legendary hero. He looks like a square person sworn to knighthood at the first sight. But in reality he is a silent entertainer. When he was in middle of the fatal battle with the enemies in Knightmare he suddenly laid a mat and slept sound with a balloon out of his nose, and when he was fighting Galious in Greek Castle he suddenly sat on a toilet bowl and fell through it agonizingly. He was enough to be qualified as one of the Space Fighters.
Goemon
For you game users up to their studying, let's see the history of "Ishikawa Goemon", of whom Goemon is based.
He was a master thief in the Momoyama period. Once called Sanada Kuranoshin, he later adapted Ishikawa Goemon as his name. To quit hard living, he initially became a highwayman, then came to raid the row houses in Kyoto, until he was arrested for robbing gold and silver, and then by the order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi (the warlord at the time) he was severely boiled to death in Kyoto Sanjo Kawara.
